Knee Surgery

This afternoon I met my knee surgeon for the first time at University Collage London Hospital (UCLH).

He was everything I could have hoped for in a surgeon as he really listened to me when I told him about my knee problems, he has an outstanding reputation and at the forefront of robotic assisted knee surgery.

As I had expected he wants to replace both my kneecaps, but what I hadn't expected was that he offered to do both replacements together with the help of robotic knee surgery. I now need to see various departments within his team to prepare for my operation by May-June 2024.

The knee surgery will be performed in UCLH's new Grafton Way Building that opened last year, which also houses Proton Beam Therapy that is the world's most advanced form of radiotherapy.

It was designed by
Scott Tallon Walker Architects in association with Edward Williams Architects and built by Bouygues UK. It is a world-leading and ground-breaking hospital building which also offers proton beam therapy.
