After quite a lot of pain and suffering, including learning to walk again, I have come out the other side with new perfectly resurfaced, realigned and well-functioning kneecaps.
I did not realise at the time that an isolated patellofemoral replacement is a rare procedure, carried out when knee damage is restricted to the kneecap compartment while the rest of the knee is healthy. Consequently, it accounts for less than 1.3% of all knee replacement surgeries in the UK, with total knee replacements are far more common.
Work on the Zabrdje house will hopefully start again sometime next year, once I have found another good team of builders to help me.
